Features released: ApsaraDB for MySQL now supports cross-region backup. This feature automatically copies local backup files to another region and saves the backup space by compressing the files. If you enable cross-region backup for your instances, you can restore data to a new instance in the source or target region. Cross-region backups are independent and can exist separately from the instances. After the source instance is released, the remote backup files can be stored for up to five years. During the current public preview, the cross-region storage space is offered free of charge.
