Supports Global Consistency

Mar 03 2020

You can set Consistency Level to Global Consistency to enable strong consistency when you modify cluster endpoint configurations. This allows you to retrieve the latest data even if latency exists in the replication process between the reader node and writer nodes of each cluster.

Target customers: users of microservice architectures and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications and users that require cross-session consistency. This feature is not suitable for high replication latency. Features released: you can set Consistency Level in Advanced Settings for cluster endpoints to modify the consistency level used in database queries. Consistency Level supports Eventual Consistency, Session Consistency, and Global Consistency. A higher consistency level results in lower service performance. By default, Session Consistency is selected in the Read and Write mode to achieve a balance between consistency and performance. We recommend that you use this default setting. In special scenarios, for example, if you require high consistency rather than high performance, you can select the Global Consistency option.
