Elastic Compute Service (ECS)ECS now supports access to instance metadata in security-hardening mode. In security-hardening mode, ECS instances access instance metadata by using token-based authentication to better defend against Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) attacks.

Target customers: large and medium-sized enterprise users who require heightened data security. Feature released: ECS now supports access to instance metadata in security-hardening mode. You can select the normal or security-hardening mode for accessing instance metadata when you create ECS instances. In security-hardening mode, ECS instances access instance metadata by using token-based authentication. The security-hardening mode provides better protection against SSRF attacks than the normal mode.
