If you set the desired number of nodes to a value larger than the current number of nodes, the node pool is scaled out after you submit the change. If you set the desired number of nodes to a value smaller than the current number of nodes, the node pool is scaled in after you submit the change. The scaling activity is performed based on the scaling policy that you configured when you create the node pool. You can adjust the number of nodes in a node pool to scale the node pool.
